Terms of Service
Last updated 27 July 2026. These terms are maintained by the Aptly team. By creating an account you agree to them. Plain language, no surprises.
What Aptly is
Aptly is a web app that helps you prepare for job interviews. You add applications, upload the CV you sent, and Aptly generates a preparation brief for a specific interview round — likely questions, suggested STAR stories, a short company and role briefing, and questions you might ask.
Beta disclaimer
Aptly is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed while we improve it. Briefs are generated automatically and can contain mistakes, outdated information, or assumptions about a company that turn out to be wrong — always use your own judgement before an interview.
Aptly is a preparation aid, not career advice, and we make no promise that using it will get you an interview, an offer, or a job.
Your account
You need to be at least 16 years old and provide a real email address. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. One account per person. Let us know at hello@aptlyprep.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
Free and Premium plans
The Free plan includes the application tracker, CV library, interview rounds and up to 5 prep briefs per calendar month. Reaching that limit doesn't affect anything you've already saved.
Premium costs €10 per month and includes unlimited prep briefs plus chat with your brief. Each brief and each brief chat has a fair-use compute cap so a single conversation can't run indefinitely. Because Aptly is in beta, prices and plan limits may change — we'll tell you before any change affects you.
Billing, trials and cancellation
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Premium may include a 7-day free trial; if you don't cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and renews monthly until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from your account. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've already paid for, then move back to the Free plan. Nothing you've created is deleted when you downgrade. Part-months aren't refunded as a rule, but if something went genuinely wrong, email us and we'll sort it out.
Your content
Your CVs, applications, notes, briefs and chats belong to you. You grant Aptly permission to process them only to run the service for you — storing them, and sending the relevant parts to our AI provider to generate your brief. We don't sell your data and we don't use it to train AI models.
You can export or delete your data at any time. See the privacy page for detail.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Upload someone else's CV or personal data without their permission
- Try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service
- Resell Aptly output as your own product or service
- Use Aptly for anything unlawful, deceptive or harassing
We may suspend or close accounts that do these things, usually after a warning.
Availability and liability
Aptly is provided "as is" during beta. We aim for it to be available and accurate but can't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we're not liable for indirect losses — including interview or job outcomes. Where liability can't be excluded by law, it's limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which removes your data. We may end or suspend service with reasonable notice, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we'll email registered users or show a notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Aptly afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without affecting any consumer rights you have locally.
